PLUNKET SOCIETY.
The New Brighton Branch of ,th© .Plunket Society held the first annual meeting on Tuesday last in the parish hall, which was tastefully decorated for the occasion. The Rev. C. ■ Mao laverty presided over, a large attendance. Mrs CVacroft Wilson and Mrs Cecil "Wood were present representing the Christchurch Committee, and Mrs Gilmour front the Lyttelton .Branch. The treasurer. Mrs Dixon, read the balance-sheet, whicli f.howetl the very satisfactory credit balance of £O4 10s 3d. The secretary, Miss Hulme, gave a brief resume of the year's work, and Nurse Wilson presented her report on whait _ had been accomplished in, the difsctrict for the vea-r ended March 3lst, 1925. Mrs Cracroft Wilson congratulated • tho branch ton the wonderful progress made during the year, and outlinied the work of the society, which is rapidly becoming world-wide. She urged all mothers who were' receiving the benefits of the society to become members .and subscribers. Mrs Gilmour aJso congratulated {he branch on the achievements of tho year, and spoke of the work being done in connexion with the mothers' cottage at Karitano Hospital, Christchurch. • The officers were elected President, MrsTßellamy; vice-president, Mrs Gamble; committee, Mesdames Maclaverty, McCreaiior, MacGillivray, Grammer, Cook, Gpod, Drake, Barry, Chris.' Smith, Sister Miles. Miss I. Wilson; treasurer, Mrs Dixon; secretary, Miss Hulme.
