A "Wanganui woman who took a into an ice-cream shop and allowed the animal to lick an ice of! the tablo was strongly criticised by a local resident in a conversation oil the subject. He said that when ho drew tho woman's attention to the unhygienic Viture of her action, sho began to give tho dog the ice-cream with a spoon. "When vhe proprietor of tho shop heard what had taken place the table w.s :vory thoroughly eeoured. "but, 1 ' sai<l the narrator, "if I had nob reported the matter, who knows that an infant might not have been contaminated by putting its fingers on the table and then conveying gems to its mouth. At a time like the present, when a dangerous epidemic is in existence. to:> much care cannot be exercised."'
