Wellington brokers held their fortnightly sales of skins, hides, and tallow on Friday. There was a full attendance of exporters, fellmongers, tanners, and tho local trade. An exceptionally keen demand for sheepskins set in, and prices were fully l£d to 2d per lb higher than previous rates. Wellgrown parcels and fine crossbreds advanced »d. Saities were eagerly sought after at Is 9d to 2s 3d up on late rates; extra heavy and super lots showed an advance to 3s. Good competition prevailed for hides, and prices for heavyweights advanced id to Id per lb. Medium, and lightweights were irom par to id per lb better. Kip and yearlii:g3 were par to id better, while calf improved Jd to Id per lb. Cut, elippy, interior, nnd damaged lines sold at low rates. Tallow waa in fair demand.
