TROUBLE AT LITHGOW. GAS WORKERS ON STRIKE. (BI CABLI —PB *BB ASSOCIATION—COPTEIGHT) UUSTIUIJAJ? AND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) SYDNEY, September 20. A strike of the gas workers at Lithgow threatens to put residents and industries to great inconvenience. It is a result of a dispute over wages. The men ceased work yesterday, and the supply of gas is running low. A DOCKYARD DISPUTE. (AUSTRALIAN AJTD V.Z. CASLE ASSOCIATION.) MELBOURNE, September 20.
A strike occurred among the men employed at the Williamstown Dockyard, over wages. Tho union claims that forty or fifty men are affected, but the liar bour Trust Commissioners state that only eleven labourers have struck. COVENT GARDEN HOLD-UP. The Transport Workers' Union has decided to offer to resume work at Covent Garden forthwith, and thereafter to continue the negotiations from where they were broken off.
