I LONDON CONFERENCE. GOOD PROGRESS MADE. (BT CABtJC—PBKSS ASSOCIATtOS—CWYBIOHT) (AUSTRALIAN ASTD 3.E. ASSOCIATION.) (Received August Bth, 10.10 p-m.) LONDON, August 7. Considerable progress was announced at the eonclnsioa of to-day's sitting of the Separations Conference. The Germans agreed to consider the loan as a moral obligation, thereby satisfying one of the Reparation Commission's essential conditions for the enforcement of the Dawes plan. It is also stated that the Dawes plan, on the request of the Germans, will be put into operation on October sth instead of October 15th. Further progress was made in the discussion of the First and Second Committee reports, upon which an agreement was virtually reached. COURTESY CALLS. GERMANS AND FRENCH EXCHANGE VISITS. Newspapers agree that 'the discussions between the Allied and German delegations are making excellent progress. No serious hitch threatens. Dr. Marx and Dr. Stresemann exchanged courtesy calls with SI. Herriot. It is the first time such exchanges have occurred since the war. PROPOSALS ACCEPTED. LONDON, August 7. The Germans have accepted the Allies' proposals relating to declaration of defaults and enforcement of sanctions in the event of failure to fulfil the terms of the 3>awes reparations plan.
