PENINSULA RABBIT BOARD.
A meeting of the Banks Peninsnl* Rabbit Board was held on Wednesday last. PreH. T. Chapman (chairman), F. R. H. Gardirer, W. Menzies, J. C. U. Gebbie, H. A. Nutt and J. O. Coop. The secretary reported that Mr John Parkinson was too ill to be present. Mr Menzies, in accordance with notice of motion, moved that a rate of 1-21 of a penny be struck for the present financial year. The motion was seconded by M Coop »r.d carried. The gjrse rm sance mo Tentilated by membeis, and Mr Hen-erton, of the Agricultural Department, who wan present, promised to assist the Board as far as possible in th s direction. Messrs Coop and Niitt reviewed their inspection and proposals regarding increasing the height of. the fence 12 or 18 inches for a distance of a I out three miles. Mr Menzies proposed that Messrs Coop and Nutt go on with their proposal as regards the heightening of the fence and that the Bo&rd record its thanks to them ror Ueir trouoie. Mr. Gebbie supported the motion, and it was carried. The inspectors' reports for July wore read and commented upon, also the report of R bbiier Todd. The secretary was requested to instruct Inspector Radford to put in the posts reported broken and prepare the fence for the proposed increase of height where necessary. It was resolved .that Mr O. Gebbie be requested to put a barbed wire fence inside tho present fence in the accommodation paddock for stock. Mr Menzies stated that Messrs Hay ana Tosswill desired the ±ioard to obtain • rabbiter for next February. It was decided to leave the question of engaging a rabbit?r in the hands of Mr Menz.es. j The secretary was instructed to supply j the Board's solicitors with a list of ratepayers in arrears and lequest legal prooeedings. __________
