COLLECTION BY MODERN MASTERS. A , splendi<| collection of works - by modern masters has just been received in Christehurch. They are a representative selection made by Mr J. H. Fisher, who is now in London, and include, amongst, others, "Granada," a Spanish scene, by W. Loo Hankey, 8.1,, 8.0.1., 8.E.; "Thames at Westminster," a beautiful,painting by Bernard F. Gribble; "THe Feast of the Salute," an Italian masterpiece, by Antonio Paoletti, Venice; "When the Boats Come Home," by Harry Fidler; also some very fine pictures by A. D. MeCormick, 8.1.. who is represented this year at the Roval Institute—"The Deserters" (a £l2O picture), being a splendid example of his work. The collection is now on view at the gallery of Messrs H. Fisher • and Son, 275 High street, and all lovers of the fine arts are invited to avail themselves of an early opportunity to inspect such a rare exhibition. 6
