EARTHQUAKE SHOCK.
RECORDED IN SYDNEY. (BT CJkBUt—FUSS ASSOCIATION COmUQITt.) (iOTTB4iU« AIR) H.«. CABLI JLS3OCUTIOH.) SYBNEY, July 25. An earthquake shock of considerable intensity, though not so severe aa that recorded from the vicinity of Maoquarie Island at the end 1 of June, was recorded at the Riverview and Sydney observatories at 2.50 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The position of the disturbance is calculated to bo approximately 370 miles north-west of the Auckland Islands, a!x>ut 1150 miles distant from Sydney, ' (Received July 26th, 1.5 a.m.) MELBOURNE, July 26. The Melbourne University recorded a severe earthquake about 2100 miles distant.
