POULTRY SHOW.

GREYMOUTH SOCIETY. (SPECIAL TO "iHE PEES 3.") i GREYMOUTH, July 25. After an interim of nearly twenty years, a Poultry Show is being held here, the recently formed Greymouth Poultry, Pigeon, Cat, and Canary Club having elicited surprisingly strong support for its inaugural show. It is being held in the Drill Hall, and practically the whole of the available j ■pace is in use for the function. The entries aggregate 367, and the quality of the exhibits is stated by Mr F. Dacre, judge of the poultry section, to he exceedingly good. Many birds which have won at former South Island shows have been entered, and particularly in White Leghorns, the prizewinners would hold their own against the best. The show was officially opened this afternoon by the Mayor (Mr W. H. Parfitt), who extended a welcome to the visitors. He congratulated the club upon the appointment of Mr Dacre aa judge. Three awards for South Island Championships were made during the day, and it was intended to make a fourth, but the competition in this class wji not considered such as would warrant the winning bird being entitled to a chamnionship. A Black Red cockerel shown by Mr F. R. Bust, »<' Black Orpington, cockerel, exhibited by Mr W. R. Sprosen, and a ba'.d loner-faced Tumb'er, shown bv Mr G. H. Bradford, wore the championship winners.
