i Sodal. | About 100 people were "GS guests of the | Heathcote Club and the Bowling Club at a combined social held in tho Club Hall on Wednesday evening. The vocal part of tho programme was iu tho hands of Mr C. Flavall. Mr Frank King acted as M.C. for j tho dancing. Items were contributed by Mr'J. Williams, Miss M. Deare, Mr F. Bar- [ bour, Miss Slater, Mr L. Symonds, jMr | O'Neill, Mr Kelson, Curtis, Messrs Symonds, J. HeaJ, F. Heal, W. O'Neill, Messrs Smith, Nelson, ftnd Miss Slater (trio), and Miss Slater, Mra Shadbolt, Messrs Smith, [ and Nelson. Misses Bailev, E. Vealo, B. j Williams, and Messrs B. Hertiman and V. Prebble supplied the music. | A social taking the form of a "Book Evening" was held in St. Mary's Schoolroom. Coin petitions, dancing, and games made up a. very enjoyable evening. Taenia Club. A progress maeting in connexion with the forthcoming Bsirow Fair was held in Mr Flavell's Office on Wednesday evening. General business wis gone through, and the reports presented by the various "barrow" committees promise a very interesting fait. Football. The game between the fourth grade tewn and Addinglan, on tho Domain this ' afternoon, will be very keenly contested, and should rtsnlt in. some -very geed football. Personals. Some wtf interesting letters of travel ha,ve been received from Miss Wenmoth by her friends. During tho aitornoon's stop at the Pacific end of the Panama Canal, Miss Wenmoth paid a flying visit to Balboa, Panama, and Old Panama. Mi 33 Wenmoth landed in Southampton and spent a few days viewing tho surrounding country, with which She waa very much impressed.
