At last night's meeting of the Council of Christian Congregations the Rev. O i j). Perry moved that the Council, should' urge people. to record their votes at the forthcoming municipal elections, stating that it was the duty, of Christian people to take an interest in everything that was for the good! of men. One of the disappointments of democracy was the failure of people to appreciate the privileges that had been gained for them by so much strenuous efiort. If their names were on the roil it waa their duty as christians to flee that they went to tte poll and recorded their votes for the men whom, they considered the ifaest. The motion was oaxried, after a number of speakers had given strong support to it. There was one dissentient, Mr W. T. Jones, who objected to the motion on various religious grounds, and expressed the that it was the duty of Christians to "keep themselves separate" from .worldly affairs.
