Swimming with a delightful strike and the judgment of » seasoned champion, Violet Walrond, New Zealand's 17-ye»r-old champion, beat Australia's beet at the Sydney Domain Baths on Saturday afternoon. But although she won the" championship, Miss. Walrond cannot take the title from Australia, and Mies Wylie is still resident champion. The excitement was intenso as the competitors lined up on- the board, the positions from the right being Gwitha Shand. iJN.iI.), E. Charlton (N.S.W.), Violet Walrond (,N.Z.J, Mina Wylio (N.S.W.), E. Venning (Queensland), Lily Robertson (N.9.W.), and Al. Allen (Vio.). Getting away from a patchy start, Gwitha Shand was the first to take tho lead, followed by Mina Wylie and Violet Walrond a close eecond.
