BIG CUT IN ESTIMATES. (BY CABLE —PBESB ASSOCIATIOH—COPYBfQHT.), (AUSTRALIAN AND H.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION) LONDON, February 27. The "Daily Telegraph" states that the Army Estimates will amount to £52,000,000, which is £10,000,000 below those of 1922-23, representing the War Office's saving beyond the recommendations of the Geddes Committee. ' [The Army Estimates for J922-23 provided for an 'expenditure of £62,300,000, a reduction of £31,414,000 compared with 1921-2.. The Estimates for 1920-21 were £164,750,000, compared with £28,416,000 for 1913-14.]
