SUBMARINES FOR SALE. (BX CABLB—PBEBB ASSOCIATION- —fOPYBIQHT.) (AUBTBALIAN ASS H.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) , MELBOURNE, February 28. The Minister of Defence explains that it has-been decided to sell the submarines presented by the Britisli Government, as they are obsolete and the cost of repairs and alterations would be out of proportion to their length of life. The personnel has been transferred to other branches of the navy and others returned to England. SYDNEY CONSERVATOfIIUM OF i> . ' MUSIC. ' ' " - SYDNEY, February 28. The Government is inviting applications for a successor .to M. Verbruggheri at £1250 "per annum for five/ years. The applications are being invited from within' the Empire.
