The deceased , gentleman kept a history of his own illness, and warded a policeman that. His death might take place at any moment. He had a heart attack, and was expecting, another, which he'felt would end fatal- 1 ly 4 He left a statement giving' the cause of his death, practically signing his own.ddath certificate. He leaves, a Widow and child, who reside in Dunedin. The.late doctor was well liked, and liis:death is regretted by all who .knew him. , Mr Setoit Henderson has . received correspondence from the department of Agriculture with regard to a proposal to establish a dairy factory on' the islands/ The Government is understood to be very sympathetic towards the scheme, which was to have been discussed on Saturday last. During the last few days preceding ■February. 23rd, very bad weather was experienced, there being heavy gales with torrential downpours. Mr P. Lanauze, manager of Mr Seton Henderson's Ohinemama estate, was to have left by the Flora on a visit to New.- Zealand. - Mr Peri Pomare, brother, of Sir Maui, was to travel by the same boat. Among the large shippers of sheep and. wool this season were . Messrs Rhodes and Macdonald, Barker's Kaingaroa estate, Seton Henderson, Harry Daymond, Noel Cox, and J.'Santos. At a meeting of the School Committee held on .February 21st, Mr Henderson eulogised the work of the headmaster during' tlio past two years, and stated that the committee should feel proud to receive such a favourable reiport on his work from the inspector. He heartliy congratulated Mr Thomson on the result of the examinations.A vote of thanks was accorded Mr Thomson on his work. It was decided to thank all those who had contributed towards the entertainment of the children during-their visit to the main-' land. The chairman stated .that lie was amazed at'the hospitality that had been extended to the children, whose education, he felt sure, w.ould benefit greatly as the. result of their trip.
