Oxford intends to use a now boat designed by x'lofessor Gilbert Bourne. It ia declared to be a labour of love. i The boat was evolved after many experiments. The principal ieatur« ia a straight water line. Ihe greaiest beam is at number three, from ivhicii the boat narrows to almost nothing aft. 'ibis, it is believed, will couciuce to increased speed ai:d resistance to bad weather. Only bow, stroke, and numbers two mid seven will sit in the cjntre. The others will be threa inches I cut of the centie line.
