Jessie Lewin Soal Norman White, James Thomas Wetheral'and Karry Millichamp were each fined Ills and costs, Hugh Clark 10s, and Reginald Frew ss, for cycling at night without ligntsHiiioid Francis 'liupets was fined 20s and costs 7s for exceeding the speed limit with a motor-car on the Ashburton Traffic bridge. A. F. Watson was fined os and costs for having an unregistered motor-cycle. In a case partly heard last court day, against Terence Ross, a minor, charged with failing to account for certain articles of territorial cauipment served out to him and valued at £2 13s, an order was made against the father, J. B. Rose, for the amount. In a civil action, Bennett and Walls v. W. Glassey, judgment was given for plaintiffs for £6 15s Sd, and costs. In a judgment summons ca3e. H. Adams v. H. Aitken. £34 14s an order was made for payment forthwith, in default SO days' imprisonment. No order was made in United States Rubber Company v. F. Potter, £9 10s 3d. The rehearing of the charge against John Man3on Findlay, a railway clerk, who wan fined 20s and costs at a previous sitting of the court on a charge of using indecent language in a railway train when returning lYom lb? Christchurch races on the evening of November 4th, and who, in consecruence, was dismissed from the railway service, aroused an unusual amount of interest and occupied the court for several hours. SubInspector Simpson conducted the prosecution and Mr G. H. Buchanan appeared for the defendant. His Worship exercised his powers under section 92 of the Justices of the Peace Act, and dismissed the case.
