In the Meagher libel case the jury i returned a verdict against the defendants for £LOIX) damages. [A Svdney message of April 25th said- libol action has commenced at lialliurst, whore Mr Micliael Meagher is suing the directors and the editor of the "'National Advocate" for £2OOO damages for publishing a five column article accusing liim of having unfairly designed to secure a majority of the shares in the paper for the purpose ot depriving his fellow-shareholders of their just rights. The article declared that Mr Meagher was piqued because the late Mr Storev overlooked him when appointing Mr Percival, the manager of the paper, to the Legislative Council.] ' .
