J Many medical men in private prnctiw have been diven to suicide (says ii Vienna message to the London papers). The "panel patients" in Vienna include all public officials, and the 'remuneration to doctors for State-insured persons i'so ridiculously low that hardly any ol them can pay expenses. Like the rest of the professional classes they support themselves and families by letting lodgings and pawning everything on which they can yais;> money.- Specialists are' able to keep their heads above water as a rule, but even they are feeling the pinch. Hundreds of doctors are provlSed with free meals daily by the Medical Relief Organisation.
