FIRES.
Shortly before eleven o'clock yesterday morning a five-roomed wooden house, situated in Nayland street, Sumner, owned and occupied -by E. A. Bishop, was completely gutted by fire. The outbreak commenced in the rear portion of the building and although the brigade arrived in a feiv minutes, the flames completely swept through the interior of the building. Very little of the furniture was saved.' The building was insured in the State Office and the furniture in the United' Office.
