TO REMAIN IN DOCK. (By Cable—Press Awooiation—Copyright.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received March 24th, 8.30 p.m.) LONDON, March 23. The Admiralty has decided that Nelson's famous ship Victory must remain in dock at Portsmouth where .visitors will be allowed on board her. [For a long timo the condition of H.M.S. Victory, whose keel was laid down 163 years ago, which had beeu afloat 40 years before she fought at Trafalgar and which has beei. moored in Portsmouth harbour for the best part of a century, has been causing anxiety. Tho condition of her timbers is such that a very largo expenditure would be 'required to put her into thorough repair, and this, cannot be sanctioned in these days of economy. The Victory was pbiced in dock last December for inspection and the decision me«ns that the will remain there.]
