SHOCKING MELBOURNE CRIMES.

The naked body of a girl, Alma Tirsclike, aged twelve years, was found in a lane oif Little Collins street. The evidence goes to show that she was outraged and then strangled to death, and that the body was subsequently carried into the lane. The girl was sent on an errand from her home yesterday afternoon, and, failing to reach her destination, she was reported missing. The police have no clue as to the place where the murder was committed, or to ita perpetrators, A HUSBAND'S CRIME, (Received January 2, 8.10 p.m.) MELBOURNE, January 2. A tragedy occurred at Brighton last night, Airs Baler, who was separated from her husband, arjSsed home late at, night with her son ancFli boarder named Rainsburg. When they were entering the house Baker's husband appeared from one of the rooms and commenced firing a revolver. He fatally shot Rainsburg and wounded his wife in the head and his son slightly. Baker escaped to a paddock, exchanged shots with the police, and then shot himself in the head. Baker and his wife were sent to hospital.
