William Simmonds was (iced ss, in dofault 24 hours' imprisonment, for a. breach of his prohibition order. He was convicted and discharged for drunkenness. VAGRANCY. John Michael William Connolly, who had been previously convicted of being, an idle and disorderly person, was charged with being a rogue and vagabond. Ho pleaded guilt j, and was sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment, with hard labour. ALLEGED FALSE PRETENCES. Harvey Roland Birch Miles was charged with obtaining, between. September Ist ana October Ist, 1921, at Lyttelton, the sum ot £ls 15s from Margaret Elizabeth Phillips, by means of false pretences, in that, representing himself to be a single man, he promised to marry the prosecutrix, and said that ho was going to England to get money left to him under his mother's will. . A boy 13 years of age, was charged with having/ on December 31st, 1921, at New Brighton, stolen £1 12s, the property of Annie McClintock, Estuary road. He was convicted, and ordered to remain with Mr Bissett.
