A LOAN IN ROUBLES.

INTERESTING LEGAL DECISION. (By Cab!*—Prw» Association—Copyright) (Australian and N.2. Cable Association.) (Received November 6th, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, November 6. The British Bank of Foreign Trade in 1914 borrowed seven hundred and fifty thousand roubles, then worth £76,000, depositing securities with the Russian Commercial Bank. When the Russian Bank sought repayment it demanded £78,000. The Chancery Division of the High Court decided that the loan was repayable in roubles, therefore £SO would suffice to redeem the mortgaged securities.
