DEPARTURE FROM VANCOUVER. ,WOBK OP IMPEEIAL CONFERENCE. (By CtKe-Prees Awociation-^Coiyn^ (Received September 11th, 5.5 p.m.) VANCOUVER, September 10. Mr Massey and his party left by the Niagara to-day for Auckland. (Special to Pm« Association.) VANCOUVER, September 10. Under tho auspices of the Canadian Club, Mr Massey addressed an audience- of 400 leading citizens of Vancouver at a lundheon to-day. He had a most enthusiastic reception. A number of New Zenlanders were present, including Sir John Findlay. Mr Massey's subject was some aspects of Empire problems. Mr Massey was ingreat form He spoke for an hour, and the audience asked him to continue. This was the first address on the subject since the Conference, which Mr Massey described as a great success. He said it had laid tho foundations for the superstructure of a British Empire which would be of great benefit, not only to the present, but the future generations. He quoted Mr Lie yd George's speech summing up the work of the Conference, in which the "mado it plain that the Imperial Conference was now an Empire Cabinet, vested with the powers of a Cabinet. Mr Massey traversed most of tho principal points of the Conference, and was continually applauded. At the conclusion of his speech, Mr Massey was cheered. The chairman said it was the first opportunity tha nrovince had (had of hearing at first :hand anything about the Conference, and it had been a great |xrivilege to have the honour of hearing such a statesmanlike account of what had 'happened on vital points. H© thanked Mr Massey on behalf of the town for his groat address. Mr Massey addresses tho Victoria Canadian Club to-morrow forenoon during the stop of the Niagara av that port.
