True bills were returned against all four accused. > The most serious charge ia that o[ the attempted murder of Alfred James Pottinger, preferred, against Charles Howard Tipping, the offence having allegedly occurred on the overseas steamer Mahia. May Francis Paranthorne pleaded guilty to assaulting Henry Saxton, causing bodily harm. She was released on probation for three years, on condition that she takes out a prohibition ordeif and pays costs, £l4 7a Id, within a year. j
