missionary society.. . The annual oonferonce of working member® of the Chris tchurch Branch of tho N.Z. Church Missionary Society was held at St. John's schoolroom on Saturday afternoon. Some 70 members attended and the chair was taken by Mr George Stoning, president of the local branch of the Socaety. An interesting address wag givon by Mr : 0. G. Tied all, the new organising secretary for the South Island. Some excellent ' papers were read by mission study leaders, and Mr George Stoning, in dealing- with the subject of "Hans and Problems," guve a thoughtful eummaiy of the state of missionary matters ,|i -Dominion*- -- ' i''-:
