Tho funeral of the lato Mr Joshua Tucker Took place yesterday afternoon, at tho .Ashburton Cemetery, in tho presence of a yery largo gathering. The mourners were the immediate members ol' the la.te s Mr Tiicrkcr's fajiiily, while tho pall-bearers were provided by the Oddiellows' I/odge. T'tio Bth (Soulll Canterbury) Regimental Band, headed tho cojitege. Among the local body representatives present were tlie Alayor (Mr 11. Galbraith) and borough. councillors, tho county chairman (Mr O. Reid), and county councillors, and Messrs A. Horsey, J. Allen, Hunter Morris, l'\ W. Watt. Robert Bell, J. Cow, A. Roberts, li. Clark, T. J. Hunter, F. Ifranipton, W. J. Taylor, W. Lochhead, and AV, T. I/ill. Among the looa.l bodies and institutions represented were the Ashburton High School Board, the Technical School Board, the Ashburton Permanent Building and Investment Society, tho Agricultural ami Pastoral Association, tho - Racing Club, tjie Uppor Ashburton lioad Board, the Tempera neo Band (now the Bth S.C. Regimental. Band), tho Masonic Order, and" local sporting bodies. Mr Tucker lwid subscribed to tho original charter of the Somerset Lodge of tho Masonic Order, and was one of tho original members of tho now defunct Caledonian Society; .The service* at tho graxesidc was performed.by tlus I?ov.
