Mr Upham explained that the nceueod lu:d not spent the money on drinking or gambling, but was in financial difficulties through ill-health on account of shell-shock. He was to return to the- Queen Mary's Hcapital at Hftnmer. Detective Qttartermam stated that the accused had. been drinking and that was the cause' of his present trouble. The- Magistrate convicted Hollands and ordered him to come ud for sentence when called upon, and to report weekly to the probation officer. A prohibition order v.:is issued cgaiust him. JUDGEMENT SUMMONS CASE. D. Scott, who did not appear, was ordered to pay a judgment debt ot £39 12s lid forthwith "to H. Oakley and Sous, in default three monihs' imprisonment. CLAIM FOR SERVICES. After hearing evidence, the Magistrate gave judgment for plaintiff with costs. TEXAXCV CASE. An application for a rehearing was granted i;i the case tho Church i'roperty Trustees v. liertrudo Mabel , Payne, and an order was mad© that possession should bo given up on March Ist, 1921, and judgment given for plaintiff for £7 5s 3d rent and coats. I(alf«, late, secretary of the North Ot-ago Soldiers' Aid Association, on a charge of embezzlement.
