Some years ago a Y/ealthy American discovered this to his cost. He sought to enter the sacred lawn, when he "was stopped bv six feet of uniform. "But lam Mr ——, and I belong to the United States," came the reply. ''Sorry, air, but if the United States belonged to you you could not come in here without a member's introduction."
