CHURCH UNION.
♦ ; DUNEDIN PRESBYTERY'S ATTITUDE. (SPECIAL to tL TtTE PBESB.") DUNEDIN. May 6. The Dunediii Presbytery to-day carried a resolution supporting the movement for the union of Churches. During the discussion the HoV. Mr Sutherland said he was satisfied thai the peoplo of the Church wero not figrcecl on the matter of union. He iad been reliably informed that the anion which was going on in Canada ivould probably mean the destruction jf both the Presbyterian and the Methodist Church there, and there ivould be greater disunion afterwards than beforo. This was just as likol.y to happen here in NeW Zoaland. Ifc ivas a clerical rather than a people's novement, Ho was in favour of inion—he would favour union with Anther Coffpv's Church, or -with Bishop Nevill 3 'Church, if they would iccept his terms.
