THE PROHIBITION POLL.
Man}' electors have bosn somewhat puzzled by the fact that it is proposed to pay compensation to the liquor trade when Prohibition is carried at the forthcoming poll. It is necessary to explain that under the old statute National Prohibition carried with it a time compensation to the trade of four and a half years. After very careful examination of the whole question, the National Efficiency Board (a body of specially-selected and disinterested business men sot up by the Government to ascertain what measures should be taken to 6ecuro greater efficiency} reported that it would bo in the national interest to <jivo money compensation rather than time compensation, and secure immediate Prohibition. Every patriotic Now Zealander should vote to Fo-nre this pro-it reform. Strike out the top line on Thursday, April 10th! 19
