Tho new docoration is for service intlie following theatres of war: Eranoa and Belgium, from November -3rd, iyi4, to the end of 1915. 1 Tho Balkans from October sth, 191o; • "Gallipoli and islands of --ftgoan Sea, from April 25th, 1915." This provides for-the men who did not get beyond Tenedos. Egyptian theatre: All operations against Turco-German forces, from November sth, 191-1; tho operations against tho Senussi in W'ostorn Lgypt,. and ou the frontier* of Cpenaica. from November 3rd, 1910. Tins provides the Rifle Brigade's baptism of fire at. Mersa Natruli. African theatre: British East, Gorman East. Rhodesia, Nyassa, j_ ,ni ! Uganda from August 20tli, 1914 ; Gor-*• man Sonlh-Wost and adjacent territory j from August. 20th. 1914. to July 9th, j 1915; Cameroon* and Nygerian fron-i tiers and Togoland. _ ' Asiatic theatre: Mesopotamia, from, November (Hh, 1914; Arabia, Persian Gulf, North-West frontier of India, Tsingtau. : Australasian theatre: N«"\v Britain, from September 11th to 21st, 1914:: New Island from September 16th to Oetobcr 18th, 1.914: Kaiser Wilholm Land. September 24th, 1914; Admir» : alty Islands, November 21st, 1914; Nauru, November (ith. 1914; Gorman Samoa, August 29th, 1914, Tho medal will bo granted to al« ranks of British. Dominion, Colonial, and Indian forces, including * civilian medical practitioners, nurses, and others employed with military "hospitals who actually served on tho ment of a unit in these theatres.
The 1914-15 Star will ho awarded to the Naist/oii very much the same terns* All ranks of the Navy and Dominion naval forces who wore mobilised and served at sea, or in military theatres on land, mercantile marine officers, and men under special naval engagements (T. 124, and its variants), and pilots and observers of the R.N. A.S.. flying on oversea ivatrol from naval air stations are all eligible. Service in depot ships, boom defence * vessels, examination, ships, and other craft employed on harbour service, at shore bases and depots not within a theatre of war,' and temporary visits to fields of operations do not count.
For 6ome reason or other naval sor-> vice at Gallipoli and Islands' dates from April 26th, not April 25th, the date of the landing.
