The semi-finals and final of the rink games were played on the, Edgeware greenoil Saturday afternoon. The weather conditions were favourable, and some very piettj plu) was witnessed, especially in the final game, "which on© of the best that has been seen for quite a Ion? time. Rangiora—McKonzie, Jennings, Cresswoll, Efford (s.) 20. started off by scoring a single on the first head, but Rangiora got the next two heads. Ashburton however, scored steadily and on tho eleventh head the scores were Ashburt-m 21, Rangiora 9. Scoring on the next three heads Rar.giora leduoed their opponents' lead conciderably, and on the twentieth head there was only thrco point* diSference. On tho nest head Sherman drew the shot, but it was short-lived as Irwin got the length uicelv and lay with both his bo .vis. Angus played to run tlio jack and succeeded with his second bowl, getting a singlo out of it. On a long head the Ashburton lead found the jack, and Henderson dro-e wildly with his first bowl and missed again with his second, thus inf Ashburton with another single. On the fourth head the scoro was level, but on tho following head, the port men got a very nice four. Ashburton were playing very steadily and on the next • head they got a couple, following it up with a rather lucky three. Angus in trying to ruu Lyttoltoris second shot out s;nt the jack and carried it to the ditch, Henderson failing to eayo with both bowls. This put Ashburton in tho lead by one. point. Tho nest head was burned by Angus and tho eighth head, through Lyttelton scoring a single, put both Tin Ira lpvel again. The next two heads went to Ashburton with a couple and a single. The eleventh head saw several changes and Sinclair with a. nice run altered tho head in Lvttelton's favour. Angus had a drive, but Henderson with two Jovely bowls got two out of the head. The twelfth head was splendidly ulaycd. Sherman drew on tho jack, but. Sinclair managed to rest him out. Galbraith had a run at the laying bowl but -unfortunately cut his own shot out. Angus drove the iacl: over near tho boundary, but Henderson, who was drawing unrticularlv weil at this stage of the game, "ot the shot, the terms again being level. The clubs drawn in the first Tound were Christchurcli v. Linwood and Sydenham v. Rangiora. The third round of the Champion Pairs was playl ed so far as players were available.
