RACING AND TROTTING NOTES. (Br "Looker-On.") Tho Racing and Trotting Clubs at Gore arc holding :i three auys' Meeting on April 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, when £3795 will be given in stakes. The Gore Cup; on the opening day will carry with it 500 sova, and tho Summer Handicap, run over six furlongs, 200 sovs, whilo on the third day the Racing Club Handicap will bo worth i.OO govs, and the six furlong race 130 sovs. Hacks have been, particularly well catered for, and a steeplechase finds a place on each of these day's programmes. The second day will bo devoted, to trotting, and the Gore Trotting Club Handicap, cla3l smin or better, 13 endowed with 251> eovs, a mil© race carrying 170 sovs, arid a mile and a quarter race the same amount. On each of the other days one trotting race is included, one worth 200 sovs ,and the other 150 sovs. For this programme of racing, nominations close on Tuesday next, 18th, at 5 p.m. The steeplechaser Nita has been purchased ;by a patron of S. Trilford's stable. (fir "Searchlight.") Nominations for the Gore Trotting Club's Annual Meeting close on Tuesday. The New Brighton track was in good order yesterday, but mot much work of importance took place. A. G.
