LY'JTELTON DISTRICT.
The annual meeting of the Lvttelton District. 1.0.0. F., M.U., was held at Okain's Bay on, Thursday. Present — Dep. Prov. G.M., Bros. McKenzie, Prov. O.S.j Jolm T. Carrell, and the following delegates:—City of Norwich, P.P.G.M.'s Toomey, Brice, Foster, P.G. J, Taylor ; Good Intent, P.P.G.MLeete and P.G.R. Bruce; Hand of Friendship, P.G.F.G. Harris; Hand and Heart, P.P.G.M. Pettigrew; Perseverance, P.P.G.M. Tom Le Comte, and P.S. Haglurid; Wairewa, P.G. French; District Warden, P.G. P. G. Moore. An apology was received and accepted from the Prov. G.M. for his absence. His address was read, giving an account.of the work during the past twelve months. The District Officer's report showed that owing to the influenza epidemic sick pay amounting to £1190 Is 10d had been paid. The sum of £292 lis 2d had been paid to O.A.S. members, 13 of whom had been sick. One hundred and fifty-four members in the district had been sick, and £390 had been paid out as funeral allowances for members and wives. The membership was 499, a decrease of 7. The election of officers for the ensuing term resulted iH D.P.G.M. Bro. McKenzie being elected as Prov. G.M., and P.G. J. Taylor as Dep. Prov. G.M. P.P.G.M. J. T. Brico was re-elected-as junior auditor. The book examiner's report was read, and gave rise to a considerable amount of discussion in reference to the proper keeping of accounts by secretaries and auditors. The present book examiners. B.P.T.M.'s Brice and Leete, vvt'ie re-elected. . \ It was resolved: —That the reinsurance of. O.A.S. members cease after Starch 31st, in accordance with the Government's proposal. That it be a recommendation to lodges that the moneys received from the Government as refunds of contributions paid on account O.A.S. members bo placed in tho war relief fund to wipo off its indebtedness. That the lodges again affirm the principle of paying sick pay to soldier members. That the nest meeting, in March, 1920, bo held in Ihivauchelle Bay, under the auspices of Lodge Perseverance. That the district secretary bo granted a bonus of £10. That this district co-operate -with the Auckland Friendly Societies Conference in approaching the Government for aid in eonsoquenco of claims on societies through war operations. That P.P.G.M. Bell receive the P.P.G.M. iewel, degree, and password, and that hi* name be inserted on the merit board. . The officers elect were duly installed by P.P.G.M.'s Pettigrew and Foster, and a hearty vote of thanks - was accorded to the Hand of Friendship Lodge for its hoarty reception and entertainment of officers and deputies. A Past Grands' Lodge was held after the session, and the purple degree conferred noon P.G._ Geo. Graham. i A smoke concert was subsequently held in the hall, which, was largely at- : tended by members from Akaroa aud | the Bays.
