SOLDIERS' VOTES. Registrars of electors are busy getting mattprs ip fof-' the printing pf the supplementary rolls in cpnnpxjpn with' the lfpepsing ppll, tp be takpn pn April lOtfi. Amended regulations governing the conditions under which Teturned soldiers may vote, have boon received by registrars pf ploptprs. These prpvide that every member pf the Expeditipnary Force in the Dominion at the time of tho takjng pf the poll shall be entitled to vote by producing to the electoral officer a status certificate (being a hospital certificate, a ieavo certificate, cjr other certificate signed, or. purporting to bo signpd, by or on behalf of the military authority holding office as the Director of Base Records). Separate ballot-boxes are to be provided (a) for nippibers of the Expeditionary Forpp in' military traipijig camp?, hospitals, sanatoria, or other public institutions, apd (b) fpr qtHer members of the Expeditionary Force. Under the new regulations there is no necessity for members of the Expeditionary Force in Npw Zealand to produce their pay-books. The prpvisipns of the regulations do pot apply fio members of the Expeditionary Force who are registered as olpctors pf an electoral district, and who vote by virtue of their registratiqn as such electors. Discharged soldiers whose discharge be-: comes final before April 10th (the dnto, of the poll) can only vote as electors of a district: i.e., their names must be on the roll pf some electoral district.
