A Danish torpedo-boat struck a mine, and seven men were killed and four wounded. PILOT'S NARROW ESCAPE. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, December 16. An extraordinary incident is related by a Channel pilot. On December loth he descended a ship's side in tho darkness off Dungeness. Ho saw an object in the water, and stepped on to it, thinking it was a boat. Tho pilot Released his hold of the ladder when tho boat hailed him, and a search with a lamp showed that tho object was a large live mine.
