The armistico prolongation stipulates that 2,500,000 tons of shipping lying in German ports must bo placed under the control of tho Allies to supply Germany with foodstuffs. The ships will remain German property. The Allied command reserves tho right, if advisable in order to obtain fresh guarantees, to occupy tho neutral zone on tho right bank of the Rhine north of Cologne bridgehead, and lip to tho Dutch frontier. Tho British demanded the surrender of tho Gorman battleship Baden instead of the uncompleted cruiser Mackenson. Dr. Erzbergor, German Secretary of State, protested, but the demand was not withdrawn. Zeeland is a province in the southwest of Holland, consisting of the maritime portion of Flanders, and of the islands of Walcheren, North Beveland, South Beveland, Sfchouwen, Duiveland, and Tholen.
