Cloud (0-10) .. ..5 4 The readings taken at the Ashburton Domain weather station at 9 a.m. yesterday were: —Barometerj 28.92; thermometer, max. 57, min. 39. SUMMARY AND FORECAST. The westerly storm area has intensified to-day. Though the winds are stronger in and northward of Cook Strait, and lain hn.3 fallen generally, and there has been some snow on tho high levels in the South, freshes arc reported iu the Wanganui and AVestland rivers. Present indications are for high westerly winds, weather stormy and colder, with rain generally, snow on the higher levels in tha South, rivers flooded in the West Coast and southern districts, and the barometer unsteady.
