Millton, 13th (North Canterbury and Westland) Regiment, is appointed aide-de-camp (temporarily) to his Excellency tho Rt. Hon. the Earl of Liverpool, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief

Mr M. G. Rich, of Christchurch. a member of the Second Canterbury Military Service Board, has received advice that Lis only son, Lieutenant Geoffrey G. Rich, lias been awarded the Miiitary Cross. Lieutenant Rich was ccjucated at Christ's College, and at Lincoln College, and was afterwards farming on his father's property at Wairuna, Longbeach. Ho enlisted on the outbreak of war, and left New Zealand with the Main Body as a trooper in the South Canterbury-Squadron of the Canterbury Mounted Regiment. He was wounded on Gallipoli, but returned, after convalescence in# England, to Egypt, where he was promoted to the rank of sergeant and saw further active service. He was then selected for a commission in the Imperial Army. On completing his period of special training in England ho was attached to tho foreign service detachment of King Edward's Horse, and served in Prance for nine or ten months. Then ho was sent to Italy, whore, apparently, he gained the decoration.
