VARIOUS PRESENTATIONS. The members of the Sumner SendofF and Reception Committee met .'n the Council Chambers last evening to bid farewell to Sergeant Pileher," of tho 30th Reinforcements, who is down on final leave. Major Beattio presided over a full attendance, and, on behalf of the residents of the borough, presented Sergeant Pileher with " a silver-mounted pipe and tobacco pouch, suitably engraved. The recipient suitably responded. Mr J. M. 33. Crawford referred to Sergeant Pilcher's work during the time he was on the teaching staff at the school for the deaf, and Mr W. F. Raphael also spoke.
