WANGANUI, This Day. A serious position has been disclosed in connexion with the Wanganui Water Supply. The Refrigerating Company's largo "new freezing works have artesian weus, but cannot use them until machinery comes to hand. In th© meantime the works are dependent on tho town supply, and arc absorbing 200,000 gallons in 24 hours, one-fifth of Gonville's water supply. The dam at Okura is going down rapidly in consequence, and an additional supply of meet the growing demands of Greater Wanganui cannot be made available till next summer. The question now is, which comte first, the new freezing works or the town? Those living in the high levels are special sufferers. The engineer has been given a free hand to deal with the matter promptly.
