There is a very fine new Soldiers' Club room in Christchurch, of tho existence of which comparatively lew returned men are aware. The rooms are on the top floor of the building, and aro reached by a somowhat narrow staircase, which appears to be the only weak part of the whole place. At tho head of the stairs, on© walks into a large and very roomy billiard-room oontaining three tullsized tablet*, which a number of men were turning to advantage _ when, a "Press" representative visited the rooms last evening. The billiard-room is well appointed with comfortable lounges and easy chairs, _ while there is evorv means of ventilation for warm evenings, and several large fireplaces to keep away the cold in winter. Mirrors and racks, in fact, every attribute of -an excellently-appointed bil-liard-room are to Ibe found, and there is little doubt that-, once the returned men get to know that they can play billiards for 6d per 100 iD such. a room, it will be verv well patronised. Off the blfeard-room is a spacious lounge and reading-room, which is most comfortably furnished with small tables, and numerous comfortable chairs and lounges, while the latest papers, magazines, and periodicals &re all supplied. There are various ante-rooms,, ana thoinew club, being in every way up-to-date, 6hould be very popular amongst returned soldiers as soon as they become aware of its existence.
