A Press Association message states that Spdd-cl-Bahr was withdrawn from all engagements at the Auckland Summer Meeting at 11.15 a.m. yesterday. The death occurred a few weeks ago' at tho Haras duo Meenil Stud, France, of that celebrated racehorse, Bachelor's Button, who was foaled in 1899. He was a fino "performer on tho English Turf, one of his notable achievements being his defeat of Pretty Polly in the Ascot Gold Cup. Bachelor's Button went to France in '1911, and subsequently joined the Haras due Mesnil Stud, but, because of the war, none of his descendants hare raced in France.

Mr A. B. F. Foley, Tvho rode Sasanof in the Ifelbourne Cup, has had a enhstantial offer to go to New Zealand to follow the practice of his profession (says an Australian exchange). It was sonpht to engaere his services for Mr W. G. iStead's stable, but the offer was declined.
