BEAUTIFYING THE SQUARE.

10 THE EDITOR OF "THE PHESS." Sir,—Should God ley Statue have to be moved, when the Square is altered under the proposed scheme, I would like to suggest that the statue should bo re-erected in the middle of the preen, on the north side of the Cathedral. I understand that when a, similar scheme was suggested a few years ago the Cathedral Chapter consented to the statue being erected where I hare mentioned. No doubt the offer still holds good. It would be undoubtedly a more suitable position for such a statue than where it is now. Trusting that the Beautifying. Society will take notice of my suggestion.—Your 3, ctc., GRANDSON* OF ONE OF THE EARLY SETTLERS. June 6th.
