REFEREES' ASSOCIATION. The monthly of the Canterbury Rugby Befcreoa' Association was held last evening, Mr C. Buchanan presiding over a fair attendance. It was announced that Mr H. B. Gray had been appointed the Association's delegate to tlie 2\eiv Zealand Referees' AssociaM r T. Bond wrote resigning: bie membership no he was to coach tho Merivale junior, team. It was agreed that tho resignation was unnecessary, and that tho secretary (Mr Herrey) should iutemew Mr Bond 00 T. Dmrnett, H. T. Fuller, and R F Piercy were elected mcmbere. Applications were received from several membera for sweaters, and it was agreed to ask the Rugby Union to provide the**. Mr Hervey directed attention to the bet of teams euppliod by clubs, and urged that the referees ebould not accept these lists, unless written in proper form. The practice of members of a club playing in a match wearing different coloured jerseys wae referred to, and the question ™ asked what woald be a referees position if the opposing club xaieed » protest. Thecbainnan eaid that greater latitude mu . be allowed this year, but referees should trv to check clubs playing except in uniform sweaters. It wae a matter for a referee's discretion, if a protest were isnfled.
