RED CROSS FUND.
PREBBLETOX. A meeting of the Prebbleton Red Cross branch was held on Thursday to consider a pioposa.l inado by the Christchurch Tramway Comedy Company, that they would come out and givo an entertainment. It was decided to accept their offer, to procure more funds ior the work. The branch has just, sunt in another consignment of goods and bandages, to bo forwarded to the French Red Cross; also a quantity of old linen, sriven by ilesdames Ash. Graham, Vose, King, and Fuller. It was thought advisable that the monthly collectors should, if possible, further extend their canvassing, in order to secure more contributions to help to carry ou the work, which is still very pressing. SOUTH LIXWOOD. The Men's Committee have collected up to date over £140, and it is thei? intention to re-canvnss the various blocks when the Queen Election is over, a« a number of residents cannot afford to support both- funds. Thnnks are tendered to Mr Joll. the custodian of Lancaster Park, who is giving a. Series of entertainments in aid of tho funds. Lar»o Quantities of bandages, shirts. Books, etc., have boon sent to the Central Depot by tb« Phill-nstown and Leydon street women's branches. j
