(rr.ESS ASSOCIATION" TELEGRAM.) TIMAEU, January 26. Guide J. X. Lippe, on leaving his hut at the Hermitage for a few days— January 9th to January 11th —left a purse containing £23 and other valuables in the pocket of .a coat. He '.id not look at it till his second return on the 14th. and the purse was then gone. G. H. McLauchlan, engaged as a Dorter at the Hermitage, -was charged today with the theft of the purse and its contents. Hie pleaded guilty. He was arrested at Fairlie, and after denying confessed the theft.
