CHRISTCHUBCH SAILING AND POWEKOUttisxv jjoAT COTB. the committee of th« Chrietclrarch Sailing and Power-boat Cltib have arranged the following programme of races for the first half-Tear of the commg season: —Yachts over 18ft, October 23rd, November 30th, December 4th December 18th; yachts under 18ft, October 23rd, October 30th, November 18th, November 27th, December llt'n; motor-boata, October 23rd and a date in November, if Bufficicnt entries are forthcoming. AKAROA BOATING CLUB. The annual mooting of the Akaroa Boating Club waa held on Friday evening in the baathouse. about twenty members being pro6ent. Mr C. W. Leeto, president of the club, occupied the chair. The report ar.d balance-sheet were read and adopted. i The president stated that tbero were ft dosen members of the club now at the Dardanelles- and that owing to the war there had been a alight falling-off m membetefcip, and it had afco ncoeeeary to curtail representation at the regattas. A motion of condolence was poesed with "the relatives of tho member* of the club who had fallen at the front, and it waa resolved that their nam en be inscribed on a roll of honour to be placed in. the boathouse. The following officers wp re elected for the ataoon :—Patron, Colonel R. Ileatcn Jlhodee, M.P.; president, Mr C. W. I.eeto; vice-pre-sidents, Mwaa W. 11. Henning and E. E. I/p)i«TTe; captain. Mr M. Kearney; deputycaptain, Mr L. Haylock: secretary anjl treasurer. Mr M. Daly; committee, Messrs H. Newton, C. Goodwin, R. Bruce, Cyril Walker, C Hall, B- "Walker, T. Lewitl; hem. auditor, Mr H. W. Wilkicß; racing committed. Messrs M Kearnev, C. Goodwin, and H. R. Newton; delegates to C.R.A., Mewrs Fisher and Otley. It wa« resolved to open the season on Labour Day, October 23th- ,
